Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional for a Quality Assurance Nurse position. This role is open to either a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a Registered Nurse (RN) and involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities related to quality assurance, staff education, and infection prevention.

Base pay range: $44.45/hr - $46.00/hr
ScheduleThe team offers flexibility in scheduling, with options including 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, or 8am-5pm. This is a full-time position, requiring 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with varied weekends as needed.
Duties- Implement policies and procedures for quality assurance based on nursing home regulations, facility practices, evidence-based practice, complaints, audits, observations, and other informational sources.
- Gather and analyze data through audits, interviews, and other activities to monitor compliance across all disciplines, departments, and services with applicable policies and procedures, standards, and regulations.
- Review monthly CASPER reports and develop Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) based performance improvement plans (PIPs) as necessary.
- Prepare, distribute, and interpret reports, statistical analyses, data summaries, and other written information to facility staff regarding QAPI activities.
- Prepare periodic reports summarizing the status of facility compliance with established goals and measures set for quality assurance.
- Assist supervisors/managers in developing and implementing corrective action plans.
- Monitor and report on facility plans for correcting deficiencies identified by surveying agencies.
- Ensure that the facility meets state, federal, and Veteran's Administration (VA) regulations.
- Ensure facility policies and procedures meet regulations and are consistent with the facility’s practices.
- Investigate incidents of non-compliance and work with the Administrator in investigating allegations of abuse, neglect, and mistreatment of residents.
- Coordinate facility preparation for surveys and chair internal Quality Assurance Committee meetings as well as the Infection Control Committee meetings.
- Identify training needs and develop and implement educational programs for staff related to quality assurance and compliance education and re-education.
- Utilize assessment and scheduling protocols to evaluate the quality of training and ensure staff is adequately trained to meet desired outcomes.
- Maintain records to document training and compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate the provision of information for regulatory surveyors with the Administrator and Director of Nursing.
- Map out all infections with McGeer and non-McGeer criteria for timely tracking and trending.
- Conduct infection control surveillance daily rounds to confirm compliance with individual care plans for residents with infections.
- Stay informed of current information and attend educational opportunities provided by CMS and CDC to assist in the role.
