This is an on‑site position that requires the incumbent to complete their work primarily at an NAU site, campus, or facility. Opportunities for remote work are rare. Driving a vehicle on behalf of the university is anticipated to be a regular part of this position, and employees who drive on university business must be authorized under the Arizona Administrative Code Fleet Safety Policy.

About the Department/CollegeNAU’s Facilities Services Electrical Shop seeks a skilled professional to maintain and improve campus infrastructure. The team installs, repairs, and troubleshoots electrical systems across a wide range of academic and residential buildings. The role offers the opportunity to work on complex projects, collaborate with experienced technicians, and contribute to a safe, efficient, and sustainable campus environment.
About the PositionPosition:
Electrician, Intermediate. Responsibilities include installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems within NAU campus facilities to ensure safe and efficient operation. Duties involve inspecting equipment, diagnosing issues, performing necessary adjustments or repairs, monitoring system performance, maintaining accurate records, and preparing maintenance reports to support recommendations for improvements and future needs.

- Completion of a four‑year federally approved technical training program in electrical repair and maintenance
- 2 years of relevant experience
- A combination of related education, experience, and training may be used as an equivalent to the above minimum qualifications.
- Commercial electrical experience in installation, maintenance, and repair
- Proficiency in bucket truck operations for elevated electrical work
- Experience troubleshooting HVAC motor controls
- Intermediate knowledge of university electrical work processes and policies
- Knowledge of electrical system work, including installation, maintenance, and repair
- Knowledge of techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used in electrical work

Salary range: $44,422.00 – $55,527.00 annually, commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and related experience.
