Business Analyst Job Description

The Business Analyst supports plant leadership by preparing and analyzing operational and management reports, developing business intelligence tools and dashboards, and creating clear presentations that inform data-driven decisions. This role partners closely with managers across the plant to understand business needs, organize information, and communicate insights in a practical, actionable format. In addition, the Business Analyst provides limited administrative support to the Plant Manager, including calendar management, meeting scheduling, and coordination of leadership schedules, helping ensure smooth day-to-day operations and effective communication.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute recurring operational and management reports that support plant performance monitoring and decision-making.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, variances, and areas that may require further review or corrective action.
  • Validate information for accuracy and consistency before sharing reports, dashboards, or analysis with plant leadership.
  • Respond to ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from the Plant Manager and management team in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Summarize analytical findings and present information in a clear, practical format that highlights key takeaways and supporting details.
  • Use existing business intelligence tools to access, organize, and visualize plant data for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Help develop and improve dashboards, reports, and other BI solutions based on evolving business needs and user feedback.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, identify useful data sources, and ensure that reports align with operational goals.
  • Document reporting processes and support efforts to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and consistency across the plant.
  • Build effective working relationships with plant leaders and functional teams to support analysis and decision-making.
  • Gather information and clarify business questions with stakeholders to ensure that reporting and analysis address the right issues.
  • Follow up with stakeholders to coordinate inputs, resolve information gaps, and meet reporting and reporting-related deadlines.
  • Handle business information responsibly and maintain appropriate confidentiality at all times.
  • Develop presentations, charts, and briefing materials for plant leadership meetings and other business reviews.
  • Organize information in presentations so that key messages, insights, and supporting details are easy to understand and act upon.
  • Support the preparation of meeting materials and follow-up information as requested by the Plant Manager and leadership team.
  • Manage the Plant Managers calendar and coordinate meeting requests to optimize time and availability.
  • Schedule meetings and coordinate schedules among plant leaders and other participants, ensuring effective use of leadership time.
  • Support meeting logistics, including invitations, agendas, materials, and follow-up coordination.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks related to the Plant Managers office as needed to support smooth operations.
  • Consistently deliver accurate and timely reporting, develop a strong understanding of plant operations, and provide dependable coordination support to leadership.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelors degree in business analytics, finance, operations, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent education or experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in working with data and quantitative information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint for creating clear, professional presentations and briefing materials.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information in an understandable way.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with employees at different levels of the organization and build effective working relationships.
  • Ability to handle sensitive business information responsibly and maintain confidentiality.
