Yard Worker

Schedule days: 4–12 hour shifts with 3 consecutive days off.

24/7 availability required.

Compensation: $25.75 per hour base rate.

• Comply with all safety requirements.
• Place securement binders, chains, straps, bunks, and slip mats.
• Load and unload trailers.
• Move materials within the warehouse.
• Keep yard and equipment tidy.
• Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system.
• Package or kit finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
• Ensure damaged products are identified and removed when received.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments, material, and equipment needs.
• Use computer to enter records.
• Maintain inventory records.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and a variety of warehouse equipment (where applicable).
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Must be willing to work outdoors (majority of the work is outdoors).

• No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required.
• Ability to work independently, customer service, deal with others, multitasking, organizational skills, flexible, excellent with numbers, and time management skills required.
• Flexible to work overtime preferred.
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Willingness to work the required schedule and specific location.
• Complete a Penske employment application, background investigation and drug screening required.

• Representative physical and mental demands described include required hearing, vision, and communication abilities; reasonable accommodations may be provided.
• Must be able to move frequently, stand, walk, sit, and use hands to touch, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs (45 kg).
