$17.50/hr – $21.00/hr

• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy and other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers in the operation of pharmacy systems and cash registers.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers.
• Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medication accuracy, checking interactions, and assisting pharmacists in scheduling and workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to company policies and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Adhere to Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during prescription dispensing activities.
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register, handle cash, and assist customers to OTC aisle when possible.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including those to physicians.
• Process manual claims for third‑party prescription services and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
• Assist with inventory management, ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals; file claims for overages, shortages, or damaged goods.
• Assist pharmacist in administering clinical services, including collecting and labeling samples and coordinating with Walgreens clinics and external providers.
• Assist in developing relationships with the local medical community through provider detailing and outreach.
• Maintain pharmacy department supplies, cleanliness, and appearance.
• Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state‑required certification; PTCB may be required for promotion to senior technician.
• Attend training and complete required PPLs, and acquire continuing education credits; maintain knowledge of healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking in English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• At least six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
