Overview

Working hours are Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00. As a Logistics and Fleet Manager you will be responsible for the management, development and performance of the UK Logistics Business Unit (BU). You will hold responsibility for P&L management, operational and people management, fleet management, health & safety and quality control within the BU, alongside the execution of strategic and operational plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of logistics and transport for the Eurofins Food and Waters business within the UK, ensuring that appropriate resources are in place to meet the collection and delivery needs of both clients and the receiving laboratories.
  • Manage the fleet to ensure that every aspect is safe, compliant and timely to provide maximum quality of service.
  • Lead the Logistics BU by hiring, managing, motivating/engaging, developing and retaining excellent employees.
  • Guarantee the development, control, implementation and continuous improvement of compliance with relevant transport legislation, regulation and laboratory accreditation requirements, including all relevant legal, health & safety and quality requirements.
  • Incorporate robust sustainability actions into plans for the BU to improve sustainability and minimise the environmental impact of our logistics operations.
  • Develop key relationships with fleet suppliers and maintenance providers to ensure all vehicles are fit for purpose, reliable and cost effective, and hold responsibility for the sourcing and commercial development of the fleet balancing reliability and on‑road time with cost optimisation.
  • Maintain and constantly improve customer satisfaction (including internal customers) and ensure the Logistics BU delivers a high standard of service and expertise. Build strong positive relationships with existing and new clients alongside key stakeholders within laboratory operations.
  • Maintain an excellent knowledge of relevant fleet management and keep up to date with the latest advancements to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Support the preparation of the annual budget and 3‑year financial plan for the Logistics BU, including long‑term Capex investment and ROI calculation.
  • Take steps to improve operational efficiency, including streamlined operational processes, Lean methodologies and IT usage.
  • Ensure a clear talent‑management plan is in place for your team, with succession planning for key/critical roles and development plans created.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience as a successful people leader with proven leadership experience of multi‑site operations.
  • Proven experience within refrigerated, time‑sensitive logistics management.
  • Excellent working knowledge of vehicles and maintenance protocols.
  • Strong understanding of transport legislation.
  • Computer literate, specifically within route planning software.
  • Enthusiasm, energy and ability to drive the team forward.
  • Proven ability to develop and motivate team members.
  • Dynamic, passionate and strongly business‑minded.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong numeracy and financial skills.
  • Customer focused.
