Software Developer Management System – BizAlign

Manchester, UK (Hybrid) Full-Time Competitive (DOE)

We are looking for a highly motivated Software Developer to take ownership of the Biz Align Fleet Web Platform , our intelligent fleet and telematics management solution.

This role is focused entirely on the web platform (mobile application development is handled by a dedicated mobile team). You will lead the design, development, enhancement, performance optimisation, and long-term scalability of the platform while collaborating across product, cloud infrastructure, and mobile teams.

As part of our product roadmap, this role will also contribute to evaluating and potentially executing a database migration from Mongo

DB to Postgre

SQL , ensuring minimal disruption and improved scalability for future growth.

• End-to-end ownership of the Biz Align Fleet web application
• Feature delivery across the complete SDLC
• Architecture decisions for scalability and maintainability
• Backend APIs and frontend experiences
• Database design, optimisation, and future migration strategy
• Deployment, monitoring, and production support
• Technical documentation and engineering standards

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance the Biz Align Fleet web platform
• Build responsive, scalable, and high-performing interfaces
• Develop secure and efficient REST APIs and backend services
• Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to convert business requirements into technical solutions
• Improve platform performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Implement reusable components and engineering best practices
• Lead technical discussions and architecture decisions
• Integrate third-party APIs and telematics services where required
• Participate in code reviews and maintain engineering quality standards
• Monitor application health and troubleshoot production issues
• Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments

A key deliverable for this role involves contributing to our planned database migration strategy:

• Evaluate and support the migration strategy from Mongo
  
  DB to PostgreSQL
• Schema redesign and data modelling for relational structure
• Migration planning and execution with minimal disruption
• Query optimisation for improved Postgre
  
  SQL performance
• Data integrity validation and rollback planning

• Commercial experience with React.js / Next.js
• Strong backend experience using Node.js & Express.js
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs

• Experience with analytics dashboards and reporting systems

• Candidate must have access to their own reliable laptop or desktop capable of handling modern web development workflows
• Device should support running local development environments, containers, databases, and modern IDEs efficiently
• Stable internet connection is required for daily collaboration, deployments, meetings, and remote development activities
• Candidate is responsible for maintaining their working environment and ensuring development tools remain operational
