Your main responsibilities will be:- Improvement of fleet impact on SWR performance and customer satisfaction through the effective management of the Fleet Planning Management team ensuring that delivery and availability targets are consistently met
- Carry out daily review of all fleet planning activities ensuring that effective reporting and close out has been conducted and take action where deficiencies are found
- Review and delivery of depot service level agreements and satisfaction against throughput with regards to capabilities and mileage control
- Management of the Fleet planning team Rosters in conjunction with laid down criteria and development of staff for training
- Management of Fleet planning Competence
- Management of Fleet planning Staff Performance
- Attendance at Timetablong and Resourcing Meetings with TPU
- Attendance on all Joint functional mitigation meetings & Teleconferences within the control function to ensure information and actions are cascaded
- Staff Disciplinary management
- Review and development of Fleet control processes and adherence to standards
- Cover FCM in extreme circumstances (Preferably Days only)
- Escalate all concerns and decisions to the Head of Fleet Performance
- Periodic reporting of Fleet Control Performance against KPI's
- Daily Attendance and action owner from the daily 10:00 Fleet Conference
- Development of process and methods for fleet planning within the control department
- Close working relationship with the senior fleet control manager
Education
- Management Skills
- IT literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint Essential)
- Influencing skills
- Self motivating, able to plan and deliver to tight timescales
- Excellent communicator
- Detailed Knowledge of Fleet Planning and logistics
- Detailed knowledge of the fleet environment
- Detailed knowledge of the SWR control environment and processes
- Knowledge of the railway operating environment
- Knowledge of the South Western Railway Business structure
- Customer focused
- Knowledge of Railway Performance Management
- Knowledge of the SWR operation and Network
- Knowledge of TRUST, BUGLE, Defect & Maintenance management systems
You will work an average of 37 hours per week across 5 days. Typically, office hours, Monday to Friday.
