Transport Fleet Administrator
Location:
Moulton, Northamptonshire
Salary: £24,487 per annum
Hours:
37 hours per week (7:00am - 3:00pm Monday to Thursday, 7:00am - 2:30pm Friday)
Permanent, Full-Time
We are working with a well-established and highly regarded education provider to recruit a Transport Fleet Administrator to support the smooth running of their student and operational transport services.
This is a varied and hands-on role, offering the opportunity to be part of a busy transport function where organisation, accuracy and strong communication skills are key. You will play a crucial role in ensuring fleet compliance, supporting transport operations and providing an excellent service to students and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Support the administration and coordination of the vehicle fleet
- Maintain accurate fleet records across systems and manual logs
- Ensure vehicle defects are tracked, resolved and signed off
- Manage databases including MID and driver records
- Raise purchase orders and manage fuel, AdBlue and parts ordering
- Coordinate transport bookings including coaches and taxis
- Carry out driver compliance checks including licence verifications
- Support transport operations during peak periods and college events
- Handle enquiries relating to student transport via phone, online and face-to-face
- Assist with vehicle checks and daily operational processes
- Provide early morning support and cover for transport services when required
- Previous experience within a transport, fleet or logistics environment
- Strong administrative skills with high attention to detail
- Confident communicator with excellent telephone manner
- Experience working with databases and spreadsheets
- Ability to manage large volumes of data accurately
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, reactive environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- A team player who can build effective working relationships
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience with in an education or public sector environment
- Knowledge of fleet compliance, health & safety or transport regulations
