Passenger Fleet Supervisor Purpose of the Role

Responsible for the day-to-day supervision and efficient operation of a passenger transport fleet, ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant delivery of transport services for vulnerable passengers. Oversee fleet operations, driver performance, vehicle maintenance, and regulatory compliance while maintaining high service standards and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the daily operation of the passenger transport fleet to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service delivery.
  • Coordinate vehicle scheduling, allocation, and utilisation to maximise fleet efficiency and meet operational requirements.
  • Manage driver attendance, performance, and conduct, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and statutory regulations.
  • Verify that all drivers maintain valid driving licences, permits, qualifications, and mandatory training requirements.
  • Carry out regular vehicle inspections, ensuring defects are reported promptly and corrective actions are completed.
  • Liaise with maintenance providers to schedule vehicle servicing, MOTs, repairs, and preventative maintenance, minimising fleet downtime.
  • Maintain accurate fleet records, including vehicle inspections, maintenance schedules, fuel usage, and compliance documentation.
  • Investigate vehicle incidents, accidents, complaints, and near misses, implementing corrective and preventative actions where required.
  • Monitor fleet performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), preparing operational reports and identifying opportunities for service improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, transport regulations, safeguarding requirements, and organisational policies.
  • Support the continuous improvement of transport operations by promoting safe working practices, operational efficiency, and high-quality customer service.
