School Based Youth Counselor/Youth Development Specialist

Hunterdon Health is seeking a School Based Youth Counselor/Youth Development Specialist to provide therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families in schools within Hunterdon County. Services include early identification, prevention, intervention, group supportive counseling, education, presentations, and collaboration with school personnel and community providers.

• Supports students with job readiness skills, resume writing, job interview etiquette, and related career development.
• Forging partnerships with community partners and securing resources that are relevant and appropriate to meet the needs of the students and families.
• Completes all School Based documentation.
• Interacts and collaborates with school personnel, HMC/HBH departments, community providers and families.
• Maintains Professional Development.

• Minimum Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or other mental health related field.
• Minimum Years of
  
  Experience:
  
  3 years of full-time experience with children and adolescents in a school or mental health setting as a youth service worker. Preferred: 3-5 years.
• License/Certification:
  Valid driver's license, passes criminal background check and fingerprinting.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  Crisis intervention skills, clinical training and understanding of systems; knowledge of schools and mental health facilities; positive interpersonal skills, good communication and public speaking skills.
