As a member of our maintenance team, you will play a key role in maintaining vehicle reliability and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Comply with company safe work practices and procedures to reduce hazard exposure.
- Provide basic, preventive maintenance and systems & electronics diagnostics for diesel and non‑diesel vehicles according to the Maintenance Excellence Program.
- Perform state inspections, oil changes, fluid checks, tire and belt inspections, steering & alignment checks, exhaust and suspension inspections, and brake service.
- Adjust, replace, and repair lighting, accessories such as heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers.
- Inspect and adjust occupant safety systems including seatbelts, wheelchair locks, and lifts.
- Deliver minor emergency road service and complete daily paperwork.
- Assist with snow and ice removal and perform other tasks as assigned by the Lead Technician.
- Minimum one‑year experience in auto mechanics.
- Basic mechanical ability and understanding of vehicle electrical systems.
- State inspection license (required by state).
- Forklift training if required.
- Completion of required brake certification and some OEM training; optional hazardous material training.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and with supervision.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and appropriate endorsements, or willingness to obtain them.
- Lifting, pushing, or pulling items up to 35 lbs, and lifting heavier items with assistance.
- Climbing ladders and stairs, reaching to shoulder height and overhead, and bending, stooping, kneeling around vehicles.
- Fine motor coordination to operate hand tools and auto repair equipment.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (hot or cold).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
