This is more than a parts counter position — you’ll play a key role in ensuring refuse trucks and sanitation equipment stay operational and ready to serve communities every day. If you have strong truck or heavy equipment parts experience, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and thrive on accuracy and customer service, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do- Identify and source refuse truck and body parts using manufacturer catalogs, technical diagrams, and internal systems.
- Support technicians, service staff, and customers with expert guidance on parts selection, availability, pricing, and lead times.
- Process parts orders accurately and efficiently to ensure timely pickup, shipping, and delivery.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors regarding back orders, substitutions, warranty claims, and updated part numbers.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts, receiving, and warehouse organization.
- Stage parts for scheduled service work to help keep shop operations running smoothly.
- Receive and inspect incoming vendor shipments.
- Process and return warranty parts in a timely manner.
- Assist walk-in customers and respond professionally to phone and email inquiries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts room and warehouse environment.
- Previous experience in truck, heavy equipment, automotive, or refuse vehicle parts preferred.
- Experience with refuse equipment manufacturers such as Heil, McNeilus, New Way, EZ Pack, or similar brands is a strong plus.
- Ability to read schematics, exploded diagrams, and service manuals.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, order entry platforms, and shipping software such as UPS World Ship or freight systems.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-moving service environment.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems, PTO systems, and refuse truck components is a plus.
- Competitive hourly compensation based on experience
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid vacation, sick time, and company holidays
- Ongoing training and professional development
- Opportunities for advancement
- Work alongside a team dedicated to supporting essential sanitation and public works operations
