Music Teacher - Secondary School (Flintshire)

Start Date: ASAPContract: Until Easter 2026 (with strong potential to extend)Location: FlintshireWorking Pattern: Full-time (Monday - Friday)

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Music Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Flintshire. This is an immediate start position running through to Easter, with the possibility of continuing beyond this date depending on department needs and performance.

The ideal candidate will inspire learners across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons that develop confidence, creativity, and a passion for music.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Music lessons in line with the Welsh curriculum.
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4, including preparation for GCSE Music where required.
  • Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that supports all learners.
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress in accordance with school policies.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular music activities (e.g., choir, ensembles, school productions).
  • Maintain excellent behaviour management and uphold school values and safeguarding standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Creative Arts department and wider staff team.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Music at secondary level (KS3 essential; KS4 desirable).
  • Strong subject knowledge and practical musicianship skills.
  • Clear and confident classroom management.
  • Valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training (can be provided if needed).

Desirable Attributes

  • Ability to lead or support extra-curricular music groups.
  • Experience preparing students for GCSE/Level 2 Music pathways.
  • Flexibility and willingness to contribute to the school community.
