Location: Flintshire

On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Automation Engineer contract till the end of the year. As the Automation Engineer you will be responsible for the deployment and support of automated machinery for the assembly of aircraft wing structures and sub-assemblies.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the deployment, commissioning and ongoing support of automated machinery used in the assembly of aircraft wing structures and sub-assemblies.
Develop and optimise automated assembly processes, including drilling, fastening, routing and milling operations.
Define and specify new automated machinery and equipment to meet production, quality and operational requirements.
Support the development and implementation of new automated assembly technologies and manufacturing processes.
Manage automation projects from initial concept and specification through to implementation and operational handover.
Provide technical support, troubleshooting and engineering advice for existing automated machinery and production equipment.
Support the selection, application and optimisation of cutting, drilling and routing tools to improve manufacturing performance.
Work with a range of automation technologies, including large Cartesian systems, industrial robots, CNC milling machines, lightweight automation solutions and collaborative robots (cobots).
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and production teams to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, capability and process reliability.
Ensure automated equipment and processes meet relevant safety, quality, performance and production requirements.
Essential Skills

Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in Engineering.
Experience in the fields of automation and/or robotics.
Knowledge of the production processes used in Broughton.
Knowledge of REACH legislation.
Project Management.
Proficient digital and data analysis skills.

Experience with statistical or data analysis software tools e.g., Minitab, Skywise.
Problem solving (including PPS).
Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
