To develop, specify, and implement innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable packaging solutions that meet product, customer, regulatory, and operational requirements.

The Packaging Technologist works closely with suppliers, manufacturing sites, procurement, quality, marketing, and customers to ensure packaging performs effectively throughout the supply chain.

This is a full-time role, based at Flint but with travel expected to Wigan, approx. once per fortnight. Our client can offer hybrid working post probation but as the packaging team service the plants it is often easier for them to be on site as they may need to attend the lines to provide support

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

* Degree or equivalent qualification in Packaging Technology

* Experience in packaging development within FMCG, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods industries.

* Knowledge of packaging materials including flexible plastics, paper, corrugated board, label materials and adhesives.

* Understanding of packaging testing and validation methods.

Skills & Competencies

* Strong project management skills.

* Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

* Technical understanding of packaging materials and manufacturing processes.

* Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

Salary and benefits

* Salary - circa £32 - £35k per annum dependant on where they are with their qualifications.

* Bonus (not guaranteed) but could equate to 10% basic wage per annum

* Pension 5% EE 5%
ER increasing to 7%
ER at 3 years' service and 9% ER at 5 years' service.

* Holidays start at 23 days plus statutory days
