Overview
Microbiology Technician
Location:
Flint
Shift: 4 on 4 off Days (7:00am - 7:00pm)
Salary: £29,605 per annum
Are you an experienced laboratory professional with a passion for quality and microbiology? We're looking for a Microbiology Technician to join a busy Quality team at a leading manufacturing site in Flint.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring product safety and quality through microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, and maintaining the highest laboratory standards.
Responsibilities- Carry out microbiological testing and environmental monitoring to ensure products meet quality and safety standards.
- Work within a fast-paced laboratory environment where accuracy, attention to detail, and compliance are essential.
- Collect, analyse and report microbiological samples.
- Prepare culture media and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Carry out environmental monitoring, including air, water and surface sampling.
- Record and review laboratory data accurately using digital and paper-based systems.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Assist with investigations into out-of-specification results and test failures.
- Follow GMP, quality and health & safety procedures at all times.
- Manage laboratory stock levels and consumables.
- GCSEs including Science (A-Level or equivalent in a science subject would be advantageous).
- A minimum of 2 years' laboratory experience, ideally within microbiology, food manufacturing or quality control.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience using laboratory equipment such as autoclaves and incubators is beneficial, although full training will be provided.
- A reliable and proactive approach with a strong commitment to quality, safety and compliance.
- Salary of £29,605 per annum.
- 4 on 4 off permanent day shift (7:00am – 7:00pm), offering an excellent work-life balance.
