Montessori Teacher

Job Summary:
To create a flexible Montessori program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation in accordance with each student’s ability; to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.

Flint Community Schools provide a range of academic, extended services and extracurricular activities at the elementary and secondary levels to meet the needs of our students and their families.

Salary & Benefits:
Teacher Salary Schedule + $3,000 Hiring Bonus* (contingent upon grant funding)

Health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance. Employees shall be subject to the co-payment of health care costs equal to the difference between the premium cost and the annual cost limitation imposed on public employers.

* The hiring bonus shall be distributed to eligible teachers based on available and sustainable funds and payable in accordance with District policy and guidelines.

Education:
Michigan Elementary teaching certification required
. Math and Language endorsement preferred. Montessori Elementary II certification preferred.

Must have or be willing to pursue Montessori Certification prior to assignment and attend required Montessori training.

Experience:
Demonstrated Montessori classroom teaching experience preferred.
