Music Class Instructor

Music Class Instructor at Flint Institute of Music.

The Flint School of Performing Arts (FSPA) is looking for a driven, dedicated, and enthusiastic Music Class Instructor. The instructor provides instruction for children K–3 in general music classes for FSPA’s partnership with the Flint Cultural Center Academy. Class instruction is held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

• Teach classes using the FSPA curriculum and, in collaboration with the FCCA Liaison and other faculty, expanded methods and materials.
• Attend required FSPA or FCCA meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions.
• Work with staff, students, families, and stakeholders with diverse and wide-ranging cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.
• Communicate regularly with the FSPA/FCCA Liaison, Program Director and staff to ensure that student and program needs are met.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in the field and related teaching experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal, written, and computer skills.

• Competitive pay range of $34–$59 per hour with a $20 per hour admin rate.
• 401(k) eligible.
• Non‑exempt.
