Salary Range: Starting pay $50,000.00 (negotiable); pay increases based on experience.

Starting Date: 2025-26 School Year

Retirement: 401K with 4% contribution and 4% match by the school

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
• Full approval in at least one area of special education
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proven successful experience working with students with disabilities
• Ability to engage students actively and meaningfully in their learning

Responsibilities:

• Effectively use instructional strategies designed to benefit all students
• Monitor and track implementation of IEP goals, supplemental aides, services, and supports
• Serve as primary contact for parents and legal guardians of assigned students
• Assess student progress and determine the need for additional instructional support
• Use research-based instruction to meet IEP goals and objectives
• Provide direction and supervision to para educators working with students on their caseload
• Comply with Board of Education policies and all applicable rules and regulations
• Provide other services as directed by the Executive Director of Student Support Services and principal
• Collaborate and consult with classroom teachers to meet student needs
• Conduct special education evaluations and reevaluations
• Perform all other duties assigned
