- Strong content knowledge in middle school mathematics, including pre‑algebra and algebra concepts.
- Ability to make math engaging and relevant through real‑world applications and inquiry‑based learning.
- Consistent use of formative assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction.
- Skilled in building math confidence and persistence in all learners.
- Strong classroom management and the ability to create a safe space for math risk‑taking.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
- Valid Michigan teaching certification or the ability to obtain one.
- Previous classroom experience at the middle school level strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to student achievement, equity, and growth.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Salary Range:
Starting pay $50,000.00 (negotiable); pay increases based on experience.
Retirement: 401K with 4% and another 4% matching by the school.
