The Special Education Testing Administrator is a non-affiliated position responsible for administering and coordinating the testing process for students receiving special education services on an as-needed basis. The role works closely with the special education team, teachers, and parents to ensure accurate assessments in compliance with state and federal regulations. The Administrator assists in analyzing test results to inform instructional planning and decision-making.
Responsibilities- Administer and coordinate the testing process for students receiving special education services, including IEP assessments, cognitive assessments, and academic assessments.
- Collaborate with the special education team, teachers, and parents to determine appropriate testing accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities.
- Ensure testing procedures are conducted in accordance with state and federal regulations and district policies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records related to testing.
- Assist in analyzing and interpreting test results to inform instructional planning and decision-making.
- Support and guide teachers and staff in understanding and utilizing assessment data.
- Stay current with research and best practices in special education assessment.
- Attend meetings and professional development related to special education assessment.
- Collaborate with other team members to implement effective assessment practices and strategies.
- Communicate assessment results to parents and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
- Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in education, special education, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Valid Michigan teaching certification in special education or full approval as a State of Michigan School Psychologist (temporary approval considered).
- Experience working with students with disabilities and administering assessments.
- Knowledge of state and federal special education assessment and testing regulations.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency using technology for assessment administration and data analysis.
