  • As partners in the instructional process, paraprofessionals who work in programs supported with Title I funds must meet one of the following requirements:
    • Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours); or
    • Obtain an associate's degree (or higher); or
    • Meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment. (Example: Work Keys Test, MTTC, ETS Parapro Assessment, etc.)
  • Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours); or
  • Obtain an associate's degree (or higher); or
  • Meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment. (Example: Work Keys Test, MTTC, ETS Parapro Assessment, etc.)
  • Has demonstrated experience working with age level of students for position
  • Has undergone a physical examination, by a licensed physician, that documents capability to perform required duties
  • Has an electronic fingerprint clearance from a criminal history record check
  • Experience working in a setting dealing directly with children.
  • Competency in oral and written communications.
  • Follow directives/lessons to provide evidence based instructional support in the areas of reading, and mathematics instruction
  • Provide supplemental direct instruction is provided in small or individual group setting
  • Conduct ongoing progress monitoring of at-risk students and report to building administrator/teachers and communicate progress to classroom teacher, administrator and families
  • Provide academic feedback to the families after program is completed
  • Keep time and effort log that reflects what was taught and students who participated in the lesson
  • Participate in other building duties as assigned when needed
