The following position is available for the school year.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and State & Federal Programs Director
FTE Position Building 1.0 At-Risk/ Title Intervention Paraprofessional Vowles Elementary
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with math and reading interventions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- As partners in the instructional process, paraprofessionals who work in programs supported with Title I funds must meet one of the following requirements:
- Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours); or
- Obtain an associate's degree (or higher); or
- Meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment. (Example: Work Keys Test, MTTC, ETS Parapro Assessment, etc.)
- Has demonstrated experience working with age level of students for position
- Has undergone a physical examination, by a licensed physician, that documents capability to perform required duties
- Has an electronic fingerprint clearance from a criminal history record check
- Experience working in a setting dealing directly with children.
- Competency in oral and written communications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow directives/lessons to provide evidence based instructional support in the areas of reading, and mathematics instruction
- Provide supplemental direct instruction is provided in small or individual group setting
- Conduct ongoing progress monitoring of at-risk students and report to building administrator/teachers and communicate progress to classroom teacher, administrator and families
- Provide academic feedback to the families after program is completed
- Keep time and effort log that reflects what was taught and students who participated in the lesson
- Participate in other building duties as assigned when needed
