Job Summary:
The Early Intervention Specialist for Early On provides early intervention services to infants and toddlers (birth to age three) and their caregivers as part of a multidisciplinary team. This position is open to qualified special education teachers and related service providers (e.g., speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers).
Services are delivered using a Primary Service Provider and coaching model to support caregiver capacity to address developmental needs within daily routines. Services are provided in natural environments, including homes, childcare, and community settings, in accordance with Michigan Early On and IDEA Part C requirements.
1. Participates in multidisciplinary evaluations and eligibility determination for Early On services.
2. Assists in the development, implementation, and review of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
3. Provides early intervention services as specified in the IFSP.
4. Collaborate with families to identify priorities, concerns, and outcomes.
5. Provides coaching and consultation to caregivers to support implementation of strategies within daily routines.
6. Conducts ongoing assessment and documents child progress in accordance with program requirements.
7. Interprets evaluation and assessment results for families and team members.
8. Maintains required documentation and service records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
9. Collaborates with team members and community partners to support coordinated service delivery.
10. Participate in transition planning for children exiting Early On services.
11. Demonstrates knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for infants and toddlers.
12. Complies with applicable state and federal regulations, including IDEA Part C and Michigan Early On requirements.
13. Perform duties consistent with district policies, procedures, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
Other Duties:
Ability to work effectively with young children and families in home, childcare, or community settings. Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary team members. Ability to maintain required documentation and utilize district technology systems. Ability to travel between service locations. Regular attendance and punctuality are required. Ability to participate in professional development related to essential duties.
Demonstrated physical and mental ability and stamina for the job. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position. Ability to work a balanced year-round calendar. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times. Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions in accordance with board policies and established administrative guidelines with minimum supervision. Performs other related duties as assigned
