Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and creative part-time K–8 Art Teacher to provide engaging art instruction for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire artistic expression, creativity, and critical thinking in a student-centered educational environment that values hands-on learning, collaboration, and individualized instruction.

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned art instruction for students in grades K–8.
• Develop age-appropriate art lessons introducing a variety of artistic techniques, materials, media, and styles.
• Encourage creativity, self-expression, experimentation, and artistic problem-solving.
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse abilities, developmental levels, and learning needs.
• Integrate art with core academic subjects, STEAM activities, and project-based learning.
• Introduce students to art history, artistic traditions, and diverse artists and cultures.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support artistic growth.
• Organize and maintain art supplies, materials, and equipment while ensuring a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to incorporate creative projects and interdisciplinary learning experiences.
• Communicate effectively with families and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities.

• Bachelor's degree in art education, fine arts, education, or a related field.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate appropriate for the assigned grade levels and teaching responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of art techniques, materials, media, and instructional practices.
• Ability to develop engaging art lessons for students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
• Passion for fostering creativity, artistic expression, and hands-on learning.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet a range of student abilities and learning styles.
• Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to integrate art with other academic subjects and STEAM-focused learning.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive, encouraging, and student-centered learning environment.
