- Assist Mortgage Loan Originators (MLO) in the administration and processing of mortgage loans to ensure efficient loan processing in all phases of the loan transaction.
- Assist MLOs with loan clerical functions and preliminary research needed to determine mortgage eligibility.
- Set signing appointments and provide customer service to clients.
- Prepare files for submission to loan processing; update and mine marketing databases for new loans.
- Make copies of borrower information, filing, and other administrative duties as instructed by the Loan Officer.
- Assist in pre-qualifications and pre-approval orders; pull credit reports and run AUS; contact borrowers for additional information as required.
- Data input including setting up new customer files with application data; update the Loan Officer’s database; mail thank-you notes to customers and realtors.
- Clerical ad hoc duties, as needed.
- Provide support to MLOs to enable them to be most effective and productive in their role.
- Pull and analyze research regarding the property, credit, and other aspects of the file.
- Administrative assistance, clerical, and customer service knowledge and experience. Mortgage banking industry familiarity with Conventional, FHA, and VA mortgage products. Clear understanding of current RESPA laws and guidelines.
- Teamwork and productivity skills; excellent problem solving and customer service abilities.
- PC computer skills with solid MS Office knowledge; ability to use the loan origination system. Encompass experience a plus.
- Administrative practices and procedures; professionalism, ethics, and safety awareness.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 2–4 year college curriculum preferred.
- Minimum one year experience and/or training.
- Knowledge of Encompass Database software or equivalent and basic computer skills.
- Office environment with daily computer use; regular attendance required.
- Fast-paced, high-volume activities; attention to detail and strong customer service skills are essential.
