Instructional Design Project Coordinator - Full time - Detroit

Under minimal supervision, an Executive Leader performs and/or manages project work of a generally complex nature aimed at improving operating systems and functions within Medical Education. The role has increasing responsibility for project and educational planning, prepares reports and recommendations, coordinates implementation, may act as a consultant on projects outside specific assignments, and supervises tasks of support staff within assigned projects.
PrincipleDuties and Responsibilities
- Works independently to manage complex projects involving multiple participants and teams to improve systems and functions within Medical Education.
- Prepares project plans including scheduling, costs, personnel matters, and operational concerns.
- Develops and refines project scope, objectives, and work plans, provides input for budget preparation, guides day-to-day activities, leads meetings, and coordinates written and verbal presentations of project findings and recommendations.
- Conceptualizes ideas, determines priorities, monitors status of projects on an ongoing basis.
- Exercises independent judgment, makes difficult decisions, works with all levels of the Hospital, Region, and System, conducts interviews, performs data gathering, fosters teamwork, and ensures efficient project operations.
- Documents current systems and operations, analyzes procedures, identifies improvement opportunities, tests alternative methods, and evaluates costs and benefits.
- Defines requirements, assists in implementing revised or new methods, and guides support staff in decision support activities.
- Establishes work schedules and priorities to ensure workload control and identifies staff development needs and improvement opportunities.
- Makes recommendations to the GME Director of Instructional Design for improved standardization of project plans and resource allocation, and monitors costs associated with programs.
- Mentors stakeholders, creates job-aids, evaluates processes, maintains comprehensive program documentation, and oversees implementation of recommendations.
- Participates in scholarly activity, attends conferences and training as required, provides staff training and oversight for compliance with scheduling and other systems.
- Collaborates with the GME Director for strategic recommendations, tracks project performance, and oversees implementation of departmental planning initiatives.
- Plans, defines, and develops team schedules for institutional curriculum programs and ensures all faculty and trainee records are accurate and CME credits are assigned within scope and budget.
- Provides materials for all programs, develops spreadsheets, diagrams, process maps, maintains vendor relationships, and drafts CME applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, education, business, or related field required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Three (3) years of education experience required; graduate or undergraduate medical education experience preferred.
- Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the Henry Ford Health Customer Service Policy.
- Must practice customer skills through ongoing training and in-services.
Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
