Healthcare Operator, Healthcare Administration

Position Summary

This position is responsible for answering the phones and scheduling patient appointments.

• Schedule patient appointments
• Answer the telephone and take messages
• Accurately enters patient demographics, and clarifies patients PCP for insurance purposes
• Other duties as assigned

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear
• The employee frequently is required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; may rarely kneel or crouch
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
• Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range
• Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding)

• Internal office space.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

High school diploma or G.E.D. completion. Some college preferred. Two years of experience providing customer service in a health care setting.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to use positive and appropriate telephone etiquette/techniques when communicating over the telephone
• Flexible with the ability to work independently and with minimal guidance
• General computer proficiency
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
