RN Registered Nurse - SICU - Part-Time 3rd weekend

Schedule:

Part-Time Days, 7am-7:30pm every 3rd weekend. Sign On Bonus: $4500.

• Use independent professional judgment, analytical skills, and the nursing process to provide a full range of delegated, interdependent, and independent nursing services to patients.
• Coordinate development of a multi-disciplinary plan of care in accordance with Nursing Problem Care Sets and clinical practice guidelines to ensure appropriate length of stay, use of resources, and achievement of quality outcomes.
• Provide patient care that respects patient rights, dignity, values, culture, preferences, and expressed needs. Assess information needs and provide patient teaching; involve patient and family in planning of care.
• Collaborate with patient/family, hospital staff, and community agencies to develop discharge plans for continued care needs.
• Document nursing interventions and patient progress; monitor responses to interventions and progress toward outcomes; perform ongoing reassessment as required.
• Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, safety measures, and self-care; include pain management in discharge planning as appropriate.
• Review discharge plans with the patient and ensure appropriate follow-up arrangements; ensure core discharge instructions are provided.
• Administer medications, IVs, and blood products according to established policies and procedures; prepare patients for surgery or other invasive procedures; assist with patient care activities as required.
• Monitor vital signs, lab results, intake/output, and other physiologic parameters; recognize and respond to meaningful changes; communicate with physicians as needed.
• Provide support to families in crisis, participate in quality monitoring and improvement activities, and contribute to a healthy work environment.
• Demonstrate adherence to patient confidentiality and universal precautions; use cost-conscious approaches to supplies and resources.
• Assist in evaluating new products and nursing practices; participate in department and unit quality improvement activities.
• Provide direction and leadership to other staff as needed; communicate clearly and coordinate care with the team.

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing, obtained within 2 months (60 days) of hire or transfer date.
• Certified BLS Provider (American Heart Association) obtained within 3 months (90 days) of hire or transfer date, or Certified Instructor.
• Education:
  
  Graduate of an approved professional (RN) nursing program.
• No additional preference.
