Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care

Job SummaryInsight is seeking a proactive, patient‑centric, and empathetic Nurse Practitioner to join our Urgent Care clinic located in Flint, MI. The role supports the urgent care clinic from 8 am – 8 pm on a contingent/PRN basis, ensuring proper coverage and delivering patient care second to none. The Nurse Practitioner will work within a holistic approach to neurological treatment, supporting both staff and patients.

- Interview and examine patients to determine a diagnosis
- Perform physical exams and patient observations
- Consult with healthcare professionals and families
- Order tests to ascertain the nature and extent of illnesses and injuries
- Administer and analyze diagnostic tests
- Monitor and operate medical equipment
- Diagnose health issues
- Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms
- Maintain patient records and provide documentation for insurance companies
- Detect changes in patients’ health
- Train patients and families to manage and prevent illness and injury
- Other duties as assigned
- Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program
- Previous experience within the field or related work environment preferred
- RN licensure in the state of employment or a compact party state, board‑certified by ANCC or AANP
- APN authorization in the state where employed to practice family health by the Board of Nurse Examiners
- Prescriptive authorization
- Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required to perform work
- Knowledge of computer‑based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point‑of‑interview technology
- A sound understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of disease prevention
- Able to work in a fast‑paced and stressful environment while maintaining positive energy
- Willingness to participate in goal‑setting and educational activities for professional advancement
- Able to work compassionately with patients and coworkers to exhibit patient care second to none
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and drive
- Able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
- Exudes respect and flexibility to impact the workplace in a positive manner
- Detail‑oriented, conscientious and committed to precision in work results
- Ability to perform to a high level of accuracy
