Locate Technicians are responsible for accurately locating underground facilities such as telephone lines, electric power lines, cable television lines, gas lines, fiber optic lines, water lines, and sewer lines. The role ensures compliance with client and state requirements, involving observation, marking, documenting, and verifying utility locations using multiple methods.

• Locates underground facilities by using a transmitter and hooking up to a buried facility or pedestal.
• Works in and walks over all types of terrain, including construction zones and residential, commercial, industrial, and rural areas in all weather conditions.
• Interprets job order tickets, blueprints, and maps to route and perform duties efficiently.
• Performs locates and emergency/on‑call locates during regular, overtime, and holiday hours as needed.
• Performs all work in a timely, professional and efficient manner while effectively communicating with customers, co‑employees, and third parties.
• Communicates with management, contractors, and utility customers to ensure a damage‑free environment.
• Uses knowledge of technology and tools needed for the job.
• Works collaboratively in a supervised team environment.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• State‑issued driver’s license.
• Ability to problem‑solve and read/interpret multiple types of prints.
• Experience with vacuum truck operations is a plus.
• Physical ability to lift over 50 lbs and walk/stand for multiple hours a day.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Pass a background screening (no violations within the last 5 years).
• Pass a DOT drug test.

• Full‑time, 10‑hour shift.
• Monday to Friday, with on‑call and weekend availability as needed.

On the road – travel required to locate utilities across various geographic areas.
