Social Worker, School Social Worker

Step into a meaningful contract role as a School Social Worker/Counselor, supporting K-12 students through Multi-Tier Systems of Support (MTSS) in general education settings for the  academic year (August 17 June 11), with a 35-hour workweek onsite. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to public education, collaborating with dedicated teams to help students reach their potential.

• Assist staff with data collection methods, evaluate results, and recommend interventions or strategies to the building team and administrator.
• Design and implement research-based, tiered behavioral and academic interventions.
• Consult with both general and special education teachers; provide case management for students and families requiring multiple services.
• Actively participate in student support and MTSS meetings, along with parent conferences.
• Provide both individual and group interventions for identified students.
• Utilize effective behavior management strategies in various settings.
• Coordinate services to ensure the best outcomes for students and families.
• Maintain documentation, including written logs and required reports, and be responsible for compliance with district policies.

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or Counseling from an accredited college or university.
• Current Michigan licensure as a social worker (LMSW) or counselor (LPC). Candidates with a limited license (LLMSW/LLPC) are welcome to apply, provided you are working towards full licensure.
• Public school or related agency experience preferred, along with school-based collaborative team participation.
• Comfortable working exclusively onsite.
• Ability to provide official university transcripts, LARA license, and MDE SW Approval upon request.
