MECHANICAL DESIGNER at Applied Chemical Technology
Location:
Florence, AL | Salary: $75,000 - $88,000
- Associate’s Degree in Design or equivalent work experience and training
- 3+ years’ experience in Industrial Process Design, Industrial Equipment Design, Estimating, and proficient use of Solid Works and AutoCAD software
- Training, experience, and proficiency in latest version of Solid Works and AutoCAD
- Training and experience in industrial process design, piping and instrument design, electrical designs, structural designs, and in equipment used in design
- Excellent hand drawing skills
- Experience in cost estimating of equipment (material and labor)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel
- Effective communication through verbal, written, and electronic formats
- Ability to maintain a professional, courteous, and tactful working relationship with other employees and with clients and visitors
- Ability to maintain a clean work environment and a professional appearance while on the job
- Must be detail-oriented and well-organized
- Report to the Design Manager
- Respect and adhere to all active contracts and confidentiality agreements with Applied Chemical Technology and associated clients.
- Respect and adhere to all safety rules, procedures, and complete all necessary safety training
- Design industrial process plants and equipment, and estimate the cost of each
- Use drawing skills and understanding of mechanics to create visual plans that are used by engineers and fabricators to create products
- Work with engineers and others in obtaining necessary information and data to complete designs and cost estimates
- Responsible for the procurement of materials and buyout items
- Coordinate the use of both hands to perform tasks
- Ability to sit and work on the computer for several hours at a time
- Lifting and handling of boxes and sales equipment of up to 50lbs
- Reaching overhead, stooping, kneeling, walking, talking, hearing, reading and seeing.
40 hrs/week (8am – 5pm); must be able to work on short notice and work extra hours, including weekends, if needed
