Position Summary

The Medical Assistant performs routine clinical and administrative duties to support the assigned area or office.

Reports to:

Director of Physician Services. FLSA:
Non-exempt. Specialty: OBGYN.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited medical assistance program or equivalent
Licenses and Certifications
  • CCMA, CMA, or RMA
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire
Skills
  • Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work effectively in stressful environments
  • Assist with patient assessments and treatments under supervision
  • Perform diagnostic procedures and specimen collection
  • Monitor and communicate patient condition changes
  • Document patient care accurately
  • Maintain equipment and supplies, including reordering and troubleshooting
  • Perform administrative duties like scheduling, data entry, and patient registration
