ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Critical Care/Intensive Care North Alabama Medical Center. This position involves providing critical care in a fast-paced ICU environment, with responsibilities including managing advanced life support devices, performing bedside procedures, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care. The role requires adaptability across various critical care departments and adherence to strict clinical protocols.
Job Details- Required Qualifications:
Valid ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications; minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in ICU settings; RN license in the state; proficiency in critical care skills such as ventilator management, arterial lines, and bedside procedures. - Schedule:
Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week. - Additional Information:
The RN will work primarily on the Critical Care unit but may float to other departments such as Med-Surg floors, Step-Down, or CVICU. The unit has a capacity of 22 beds in CCU, 14 in CVICU, and 31 in CCSD, with patient ratios ranging from 1:2 to 1:5 depending on the department. The environment is equipped with advanced monitoring and life support technology, including ventilators, Prismaflex CRRT machines, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and more.
The position involves working with adult and geriatric patient populations with diagnoses including respiratory failure, strokes, myocardial infarctions, and post-operative care. Candidates should demonstrate efficient time management, excellent communication abilities, and experience with complex critical care devices and procedures.
