Brunel is currently searching for a Mine Planner/Designer for direct hire with our client in Florence, Arizona
.
The Wellfield Mine Planner/Designer is responsible for designing and coordinating wellfield expansions, planning the retirement of depleted zones, and optimizing infrastructure to support efficient and sustainable copper recovery. This role combines engineering, planning, and data analysis to improve operational performance and ensure safe, cost-effective production.
Duties- Design and oversee the construction of piping and electrical infrastructure to support wellfield operations.
- Develop and maintain wellfield layouts using AutoCAD and ArcGIS.
- Plan and optimize wellfield expansions based on operational performance and feedback.
- Design pumping systems and pipelines to maximize copper recovery.
- Prepare site grading plans that align with operational and environmental requirements.
- Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and performance analysis.
- Evaluate flow rates and copper grades to enhance wellfield efficiency.
- Analyze laboratory and operational data to guide design and decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, or Hydrogeology OR advanced degree in engineering or geosciences.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mining or well construction.
- Demonstrated experience in copper mining and mine planning (short- or long-range).
- Experience in wellfield design, instrumentation, or hydrometallurgy preferred.
- Proficiency in Minesight, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS.
- Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, water chemistry, and geology.
- Working knowledge of electrical infrastructure.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- MUST be eligible to work for any employer in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.
- Combination of office and fieldwork in varying conditions.
- Ability to climb, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform hands‑on field activities.
- Commitment to maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture.
This position offers a competitive salary plus 10% annual bonus potential. Benefits are 100% fully paid for you and your family. Your work schedule will be on‑site standard Monday through Friday with flexibility in start/end times. Relocation package available.
