Job Duties:
  • Drive both gas and diesel vehicles ranging from ½ ton vans to semi-tractor trailer rigs weighing 80,000 lbs.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required by Federal law
  • Supervise and train assigned inmate workers
  • Closely monitor work crew activities and enforce security practices and daily sanitation in the area of responsibility in accordance with ADCRR policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Oversee the loading, delivery, and installation of ACI products
  • Supervise warehouse activities performed by inmates
  • Prepare necessary trip tickets per ADCRR guidelines and maintain CDL certifications/medical compliance
  • Takes precautionary measures to prevent damage or theft of items while in transit
  • Account for all goods being shipped on the bill of lading and verify quality of goods being sold
  • Ensure quality installation
  • Interface with customers and vendors during pickup, delivery, and installation of ACI-produced goods
  • Operate material handling equipment, which includes hand trucks, electric pallet jacks, and gas-operated forklifts (up to 11,000 lbs. capacity)
  • Consult with the Regional Operations Manager, Transportation Supervisor, and other staff regarding quality control issues
  • Attend mandatory training and staff meetings
  • Prepare written reports as required
  • Drive on State business
  • Perform other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Supervision and management techniques

  • Warehouse and transportation operations to include shipping, receiving, inventory control, product delivery, storage, manufacturing, and installation

  • Division and Department policies and procedures, including fire and safety standards and regulations

  • Secure and unload products
  • Adhere to all Department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Work in a prison environment
  • Work extended and irregular hours with an inmate work crew
