Job Summary
Fed Ex is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Part-Time Freight Handler to support Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) Dock Operations
. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient movement, handling, and staging of freight within our dock facilities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and uphold Fed Ex's high standards for safety, service, and operational excellence.
Load, unload, sort, and stage LTL freight on the dock using safe material‑handling practices
Operate dock equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and dollies (forklift operation as required and trained)
Inspect freight for damage, verify shipment documentation, and report discrepancies
Secure freight properly to prevent damage during transit
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock area in compliance with company and OSHA standards
Work collaboratively with dock supervisors, drivers, and team members to meet operational targets
Follow all Fed Ex safety, security, and quality procedures at all times
Skills and Qualifications
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull freight weighing up to 50 lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Basic understanding of warehouse or dock operations
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Dependable, punctual, and team‑oriented mindset
Willingness to work in varying temperatures and physical conditions
Previous experience in freight handling, dock operations, warehouse, or logistics is preferred
Entry‑level candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
Experience with LTL freight or material‑handling equipment is an advantage
Part-Time Position
Flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs
Hours may vary depending on freight volume and business demands
Knowledge of safe lifting techniques and dock safety practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment
Strong time‑management and organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
Basic math and reading skills for shipment verification and labeling
