Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned art curriculum for high school students.
Instruct students in a variety of artistic techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
Foster creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression in a supportive classroom environment.
Assess and evaluate student progress through projects, portfolios, and exhibitions.
Maintain an organized and safe art classroom and studio space.
Prepare and display student artwork for school events and community showcases.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate art into cross-curricular instruction when appropriate.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support academic and creative growth.
Participate in professional development, department meetings, and school wide initiatives.
Perform additional duties as assigned by administration.

Minimum Qualifications or Standards Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Valid South Carolina teaching certification in Visual Arts or eligibility for certification.
Experience working with high school students preferred.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to design inclusive, creative, and student-centered learning experiences.
