RINA is currently recruiting for a  Railway Field Laboratory Senior Assessor  to join its office in Florence, Italy within the  Transport & Infrastructure Certification  Division.

Mission
As a Railway Field Laboratory Junior Assessor at RINA Services S.p.A., you will be integral to advancing the quality and reliability of railway component testing. Your mission will focus on supporting mechanical tests in the field, contributing to the development of innovative testing methods while ensuring strict compliance with ISO 17025 accreditation standards.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to deepen your expertise in railway certification and play a pivotal part in maintaining safety and performance standards within the transport and infrastructure sector.

Key Accountabilities

Assessment and Validation Support:
Collaborate closely with senior assessors to execute assessment and validation activities on railway projects, reinforcing adherence to internal quality procedures, accreditation requirements, legal frameworks, and industry-specific standards.

Delivery Assurance:
Take ownership of specific tasks within assessment and verification plans, ensuring deliverables are met punctually and meet the highest quality benchmarks under guidance.

Project Contribution:
Proactively assist project teams to achieve objectives within stipulated timelines, applying methodical approaches to problem-solving and project execution to support overall success.

Compliance and Standards Monitoring:
Conduct thorough reviews and inspections aligned with accreditation protocols and legislative mandates, contributing to continuous quality improvement and robust compliance management.

Technical Knowledge Development:
Facilitate the exchange and growth of technical expertise across teams by documenting findings, participating in workshops, and mentoring peers within the Railway Field Laboratory.

Client Feedback Analysis and Service Improvement:
Systematically gather and analyse feedback from clients to identify service enhancement opportunities and support the implementation of quality initiatives.

Project Management Assistance:
Support project tracking activities including progress monitoring, resource coordination, and reporting to ensure transparency and efficient communication across stakeholders.

Design Verification Support:
Assist with design verification tasks through application of relevant standards, structural integrity checks, and auditing of quality system documentation, ensuring design outputs meet rigorous criteria.

Travel and On-site Support:
Commit to extensive travel across project sites (50%-75%) to provide hands-on support and direct engagement with testing activities, fostering strong client relationships and operational excellence.

Education
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Qualifications

Experience in railway companies or laboratories

Knowledge of assessment, validation and testing procedures

Experience with international and European Railway standards

Driving license type B

English Level Minimum B2

Passion for the railway industry and a drive to grow professionally in this field

Compensation Data
The salary range and job grade for this position are defined based on objective, role-related criteria, and responsibilities in accordance with  CCNL RINA  (CNEL code I480). The gross annual salary range foreseen is between  €31,000 and €39,000  and will be finally defined on candidate’s professional experience, qualifications, competencies, and overall alignment with the role. In addition, an annual variable compensation component is provided, based on both Company and individual performance objectives in accordance with the current policies and collective agreements.

The overall compensation package is complemented by the Company's welfare.
