Title: Part-Time Lineworker Training Assistant (Pole Yard)

Salary Range: Hourly rate of $20 per hour

Hours:

5p - 9p, two or three nights per week

Work Location: On-Site

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

College: Gateway Community & Technical College, Boone Campus

Department: Manufacturing & Transportation Technologies

Assist in training and developing future line workers in technical skills and safety protocols. This role supports hands-on instruction alongside a full-time instructor. Ideal candidates should be passionate about safety and committed to preparing the next generation of line workers.

• Deliver instructional materials
• Conduct hands-on training
• Evaluate student performance
• Ensure compliance with industry standards
• Mentor students in a high-risk environment
• Other duties as assigned

• 2 years of relevant experience
• Industry certifications (preferred)
• Experience with electrical power line safety
• Ability to work independently
• Strong communication and mentoring skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

• Associate’s degree or equivalent
• Previous experience in a community college setting

• Physical stamina and comfort working at heights
• Team collaboration
• Safety-first mindset
• Instructional or coaching experience
