Senior Application Engineer

To assist Sales staff by providing technical support and information in the proper use of Mazak machine tools including the ability to setup, program then produce customer parts/products efficiently and repeatedly with robust quality.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
• Provide telephone / e-mail customer support on the operation and use of Mazak products.
• Provide process / machine recommendations to best produce customer parts at the stated part volumes.
• Calculate time study estimates of machine cycle time.
• Calculate a cost to manufacture customer parts including labor, and tooling / work holding costs.
• Conceptually design work holding and tooling as needed to support the manufacture of customer parts.
• Demonstrate machine operation and machine features at trade shows and open house events.
• Safely rig and install machines in Technology Centers and at trade show events.
• Provide customer training on safe machine operation and detailed machine functions at the customer facility.
• Perform test cuts to demonstrate machine capability / prove processing concepts.
• Perform full turnkey process development and testing including statistical analysis of part measurement and quality.
• Approximately 15% of travel is required.

• Military Veteran with Technical training certificate or:
• Degree or certification from an accredited school in mechanical or manufacturing or a related technical field plus fifteen years minimum experience in a machine tool related field is required.
• Associate's degree in related field is required;
  Bachelor's degree is preferred.

• Strong ability to communicate both written and orally with management, vendors, and customers.
• Proven ability to effectively work in a team environment with other engineers.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
• Mechanical ability to build fixtures, assemble tools and rig and level machinery.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically strong in Excel.
• Proficient with Mazatrol, EIA/G-Code Programming, and CAD/CAM Programming software (Ex. Esprit, Mastercam, Fusion 360 or other).
