Employment type: Full‑time, hourly, 30‑40 hours per week. Eligible for the same benefits as salaried employees and paid time off at 8 hours per day.

Job Summary: Professionally and effectively assists customers and potential customers with a variety of banking transactions, inquiries, and other banking services from both the teller counter and desk side.

Education / Experience Required
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of previous customer service experience in a retail environment or equivalent sales experience (preferred).
  • Teller experience preferred.
Qualifications / Skills Required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization, time management, follow‑up and selling skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to lead others in sales and service.
  • Knowledge of banking products and services preferred.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform teller duties: receive deposits for all deposit accounts, verify cash and endorsements, issue receipts; cash checks and pay out cash upon verification of signature and customer balances within limits; place holds on accounts for uncollected funds; pay withdrawals after verifying balance and signatures; gather conductor information when necessary under Bank Secrecy Act guidelines.
  • Act as a sales leader within the banking center, selling bank services to existing and potential customers, referring customers to Central Investment Center, Trust Department/Wealth Management, Central Insurance Services, and Central Mortgage Center as appropriate, and promoting teller referrals and sales.
  • Open and close personal and non‑personal accounts depending on level of training; provide accurate documentation to the appropriate departments; complete training curriculum to become fully functional within the first 90 days.
  • Establish, retain and deepen relationships with current and potential bank customers to achieve sales goals and provide exceptional customer service; use profiling analysis tool to identify cross‑sale opportunities and make outbound telephone calls in order to satisfy customer needs.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, greet customers, maintain records, compile and prepare administrative reports, order banking center supplies, and distribute all mail within the banking center.
  • Perform quarterly audits on tellers, official check logs, the collateral vault and other documented items to maintain internal controls as detailed in the Banking Center Self‑Audit Guide.
  • Assist in the process of consumer lending by taking and entering consumer loan applications; receive mortgage, installment loan, credit card, PEL, or other payments after checking amount and due date.
  • Generate account maintenance (title changes, address changes, stop payments, etc.) for any Central Bank account as requested by customers.
  • Rent and release safe deposit storage boxes, maintain vault entry log, audit lease agreements and entry cards, and insure customers are billed annually; sell gift cards to customers and maintain records of supplies and sales for balancing purposes.
  • Open and close banking center in a safe and secure manner; ensure courier bag is prepared for daily run.
  • Perform as a backup CVT as required; may also perform full CVT duties depending on branch cash demands and technology utilized at the banking center.
  • May train new tellers/CSRs and mentor new staff members.
  • Assist with ATM balancing.
  • Score at least 85% on Product Knowledge test annually; if applicant does not have a current score they must take and pass the Product Knowledge Exam within 90 days of starting.
