Working hours for this position are Sunday - Tuesday and every other Wednesday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Position Summary:
The NPI (New Product Introduction) Material Handler supports the launch and transition of new products by managing materials, inventory, and logistics activities specific to NPI builds. This role ensures that all materials are received, stored, kitted, and delivered to production or engineering in a timely and accurate manner, aligning with project schedules and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, and verify materials and components for NPI projects according to documentation and quality standards.
- Accurately record material movements in ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP).
- Stage, label, and kit materials for engineering builds, prototypes, and pilot runs.
- Coordinate with NPI planners, engineers, and buyers to ensure material availability and resolve shortages or discrepancies.
- Support engineering change orders (ECOs) and configuration management activities as they impact materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory and ensure traceability of all materials used in NPI builds.
- Handle material returns, rework, and scrapping per process and documentation requirements.
- Document and report issues in material flow, quality, or system accuracy to NPI or operations management.
- High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of material handling, inventory control, or logistics experience (preferably in an NPI or manufacturing environment).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP systems.
- Familiarity with BOMs (Bill of Materials), work orders, and engineering documentation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive problem‑solving mindset.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Planning, Quality, etc.).
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes.
