Job Overview
Kelly Services is looking for a production supervisor for a packaging company in Florence, KY. This is a direct hire role and is not temporary or contract. Position is a salaried role and pays between $88,500 and $94,000 yearly with benefits that include 3 weeks of paid time off, paid holidays, health and life insurance, and a 401(k) match up to 6%.

Shift scheduleNights 7:45 p.m. – 8:15 a.m. on a 2‑2‑3 12‑hour shift. One week you would work Mon, Tues, Sat, and Sun and the next week the opposite days.
Essential Functions- Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing operations to meet production targets, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Lead and motivate production teams, providing guidance, support, and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment. Allocate tasks and responsibilities for smooth workflow.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to maintain and improve product quality, implementing and enforcing quality control processes within production.
- Identify areas for process optimization, efficiency enhancement, and cost reduction, and implement improvements to enhance overall production performance.
- Train, mentor, and develop production staff, ensuring team members are adequately skilled and knowledgeable in their roles. Support ongoing training initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards by implementing safety protocols, guidelines, and conducting regular safety meetings.
- Collaborate with materials management to maintain an uninterrupted supply of materials, monitoring and controlling inventory levels to support production needs.
- Address production issues in real‑time, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions, collaborating with maintenance and engineering teams as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, quality control measures, and incidents, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
- Communicate production goals, targets, and expectations to the team, and collaborate with other departments to streamline production processes.
- Education: High School Diploma; prior leadership experience preferred.
- Experience: 5–7 years of supervision in a manufacturing environment; strong leadership, advanced coaching skills preferred.
- Strong mathematical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role in manufacturing, with a minimum of one year in Industrial Manufacturing.
- Hands‑on role with on‑floor time; will lead safety briefings for a team of 22 employees across 5 lines.
- Ability to manage staff shortages, negotiate and follow up on production actions, and occasionally relieve colleagues during lunch breaks.
- Must wear steel‑toed shoes or boots (provided by the customer).
