Non-Exempt Position Purpose
This is specialized work within the KY Works and SNAP E&T programs. This position will be responsible for caseload within the KY Works and SNAP E&T Programs. Responsibilities include assistance with placement into employment or work preparation activities of program participants. Monitoring of those participants to include weekly follow-up, required files management, communication with placement sites and data entry. Community and employer relationships and interaction will be an integral part of this position as well.
Duties are performed under general to limited supervision.
- Assessing and providing assistance with placement into employment or work preparation activities, including, but not limited to Community Service Placement;
Subsidized Employment;
Work Experience Training Program; and Unsubsidized Employment for KWP participants. - Assessing and providing assistance with placements into employment, Employment Readiness Training, Integrated Education and Training, Workfare, Work Experience Program, Basic Education and Vocational Education.
- Client orientations, assessments, and meetings.
- Regular and timely data entry (minimal weekly) into the OTIS program for KWP clients.
- Data entry, good cause verification, participation verification, and complete back-office tasks for SNAP E&T clients in Kynect Ability timely.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate files and documentation.
- Interface with OTIS and Kynect Ability to evaluate strengths and weaknesses of client.
- Monitor client’s attendance in countable core activities and all program activities.
- Assist and train clients to perform job searches.
- Continuous job retention services.
- Manage one year follow up of clients in their permanent placement sites for KWP and SNAP clients.
- Responsible for meeting required timelines of the program.
- Responsible for verifying all documentation prior to delivery to DCBS.
- Ongoing, professional communication with DCBS staff concerning common clientele for KWP clients.
- Interactions with COM/WEP sites to collect and verify KWP hours and assist with client becoming job ready.
- Responsible for overseeing clients placed on site.
- Minimal liaison with employers to develop clients.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree preferred with related training and experience considered.
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with co-workers and individuals from a variety of economic backgrounds. Be able to establish and maintain effective communications with all levels of professionals and clients with whom they interact.
- Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the KY Works and SNAP E&T Program.
- Ability to learn and retain information regarding multiple programs.
- Ability to accurately enter data into the computer and general computer knowledge.
- Skill in organizing and maintaining accurate files and records.
- Ability to exercise judgment in the performance of duties.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions quickly and accurately.
- Ability to meet and deal tactfully and courteously with the public.
- Ability to make sound judgments.
- Good knowledge of safe work practices and ability to apply them in workday situations.
- Knowledge of community, state, and federal resources and how to access or utilize them.
- Be able to cope with complex and stressful client situations and variations.
- Be able to maintain and develop concepts and professional changes in assessment and case management systems or teachings.
- Appear for work and complete assigned tasks within a reasonable period of time.
- Strong documentation and computer skills.
Position Requirements
- Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner.
- Position may require occasional irregular hours and district travel.
