Looking to add a per diem? Do you have critical care/ICU experience? Come join us on the coast in beautiful Florence, Oregon! Peace Health is seeking a per diem RN for our ICU (variable shifts/12 hours in length).
The salary range for this job opening at Peace Health is $49.30 – $77.46 per hour. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.
EssentialFunctions
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs.
- Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
- Direct and delegate care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
- Ensure own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
- Participate in the development of and maintain established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Degree from an accredited School of Nursing (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
- One year RN experience (Required): adult critical care experience OR RN residents 400 hours in ICU within last 12 months OR successful completion of PHH ICU training program.
- Must function independently with advanced treatments, procedures and equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and treat life‑threatening arrhythmias.
- State of Oregon nursing license (Required)
- Basic Life Support (Upon Hire)
- ACLS required according to Resuscitation Training Completion Requirements policy.
- NIHSS and TNCC required within 12 months of hire/transfer date.
- PALS required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
- Demonstrated knowledge of age‑specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs (Required)
- Required credentials for each Unit/Department (see community specific document) (Required)
- Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family‑centered work environment (Required)
- Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures (Required)
- Basic computer skills (Required)
- Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without assistive equipment
- Fine motor skills to grasp and control equipment and perform precise procedures
- Push/Pull:
Frequently up to 45 lbs. force - Hands‑on CPR at least 20 mins using 100‑125 lbs. of force (frequency seldom or occasionally)
- Ability to move around area with frequent sitting
- Bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, kneeling frequently
- Lifting non‑patient up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
- Must complete tasks in a noisy environment.
- Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
