-12 th grades)
The Company: Highland Park United Methodist Church in Florence, SC
The Position: Director of Youth Ministries – Full time with regular office hours including Sundays
Salary: $30,000 to $36,000
Position Description:
The HPUMC Director of Youth Ministries should be an experienced leader willing to serve as a role model and champion of youth, while integrating youth ministry throughout the church. Effectively growing our youth ministry programs is a key mission of our church and responsibility of this position. It is critical that the individual in this role continuously seeks new ways to attract and engage our youth.
This includes not only the engagement of youth within the parish but also reaching out to the unchurched and marginally churched youth in our community.
The successful candidate will need to bring a track record of leading teams through the development and execution learning plans that go beyond simple understanding, but to the heart of becoming disciples of Christ. The candidate will need to be able to balance leadership and execution responsibilities in a resource-constrained environment utilizing and tapping into the strengths of the congregation through maximizing volunteer activities.
As a key central player, effective communication and coordination with staff, church administration, and the congregation are critical. The ability to effectively convey your experience in similar activities and roles will be critical in the selection process.
Requirements:
The preferred background for this position is a Bachelor’s degree in a ministry, programming or education related area OR a degree combined with 3 or more years of experience with leadership in church youth programs.
Previous formal training with youth ministries is highly preferred but not required if leadership with youth experience is present.
