Cardiovascular Technician I
Location:
MUSC Health, Florence, SC
The EKG technician assumes responsibility and accountability for performing electrocardiograms on customers ranging in age from infant to the aged. The technician is also responsible for assisting with performing stress tests, processing EKGs, and identifying heart arrhythmias to report to the cardiologist. Performed other related duties incidental to the work described within.
Responsibilities- Perform electrocardiograms (EKG) on patients of all ages.
- Assist in performing stress tests.
- Process EKG results and identify arrhythmias.
- Report findings to cardiologists.
- Maintain accurate patient records and follow infection control procedures.
- Assist with related duties as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of an EKG program preferred.
- Previous EKG experience desired but not required.
- Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Current CPR certification or obtain within the first week of employment.
- Knowledge of ECG interpretation and cardiac monitoring.
- Ability to work partial/full-time hours as per schedule.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of a EKG program preferred.
- Previous EKG experience desired but not required.
- Strong communication, writing, interpersonal skills.
- Current CPR certification or obtained during the first week of employment.
