Medical Staff Associate - LPN

• Greet and register new plasma donors into the donor management computer system
• Conduct screening procedures: taking blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and arm checks
• Perform finger sticks to test donors for hematocrit and total protein testing using screening equipment; monitor the electronic donor questionnaire system
• Determine donor eligibility by performing donor eligibility assessments, including medical history interview, physical examination, educating donor on donor testing, HIV/AIDS virus, donation risks, informed consent, confidential self-exclusion, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) testing as necessary
• Provide counseling to donors regarding unacceptable test results
• Initiate and assist in donor investigations regarding post donation information
• Evaluate and attend to donor adverse events during the donation process
• Follow all standard operating procedures for all medical emergencies, communicate with the Center Medical Director, and coordinate donor transport to emergency medical care facilities
• Learn and maintain thorough familiarity and compliance with all state and federal regulations, Standard Operating Procedure Manual, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and internal company procedures
• Maintain an open line of communication with management
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with donors, fellow employees, and vendors
• Accept performance feedback in a professional manner
• Show regular attendance and arrive on time for all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum one (1) year work experience preferred
• Actively licensed or certified in the state where performing duties:
  Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, or Paramedic, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA)
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret directions and instructions
• Perform basic math calculations
• Basic computer skills
• Reasoning ability to identify, interpret and apply appropriate information
